The story crafting system
for discovery writers.

1.0Journal

Write freely. Nothing gets lost.

Free write about whatever pulls you: a scene, a character, a theme you can't shake. Each entry saves automatically to your journal, where you tag it, tie it to a project, and link it to the characters, locations, and ideas it belongs with.

2.0Draft

Everything about your story, right where you write.

As you write, your journal, characters, and locations stay in the sidebar, always a glance away. Drop a placeholder like 'describe the kitchen' and keep your momentum; come back when you're ready. Your story bible fills in on its own as new characters and places appear. Your time goes to the writing that matters, not the busywork that only feels like progress.

The structure is already in your draft — discowriter makes it visible.

3.0Revise

See the structure. Decide what changes.

A reverse outline shows you the shape of what you wrote — and discowriter builds it automatically as you write. Tension and polarity analysis surfaces actionable insights alongside charts. And the editorial letter is a conversation: push back on a note and discowriter sharpens the next one. You keep what matters and send it to your revision tasks. No noise, just signal.

4.0Share

Real reader feedback. Zero disruption.

Share your manuscript with beta readers through a link they can access without the need to sign up for discowriter. They leave comments on a snapshot of your draft, so you can keep writing and revising without impacting what they see. Track how far each reader progresses through your novel and pull the notes worth keeping straight into your revision tasks — directly accessible within draft mode.

Common questions

Does discowriter write content for me?

No, and never. discowriter reads what you've written and provides structural insights and feedback. It does not generate prose, suggest sentences, or complete your story. Every word is yours.

Do I need a finished draft to use discowriter?

Not at all. You can upload a work-in-progress at any stage — a few chapters, a partial draft, or a complete manuscript. discowriter meets you where you are.

What's a discovery writer?

Discovery writers (also called pantsers) find their story by writing it rather than outlining it heavily first. If you've ever said 'I don't know what happens until I write it,' you're a discovery writer. discowriter is built specifically for the way you work.

How is this different from Grammarly or other writing tools?

Grammarly checks grammar and style at the sentence level. discowriter works at the structural level — pacing, character arcs, plot threads, and story shape. It's the difference between a copyeditor and a developmental editor.

What happens if I disagree with a suggestion?

Push back. Leave an authorial intent note explaining your thinking. discowriter will note it and adjust future editorial letters accordingly. No one understands your story like you do.

Is my writing private?

Yes. Your manuscript is never used to train AI models, never shared with third parties, and never read by humans at discowriter without your explicit permission.
